History
The history of the ES can be traced to Lexus' first year, 1990, when the ES 250 debuted. The model was soon redesigned in 1992 with the unveiling of the ES 300. This model had much more distinctive styling, and remained popular for many years. The ES was last redesigned in 2002, with a longer wheelbase and increased height to provide greater passenger room than the previous ES. It is also quieter thanks to new sound-absorbing materials. Lexus polished up some of the details on the ES 330 for 2005. Revised exterior styling includes a new front and rear appearance with updated lighting and trim. A revised steering wheel with auxiliary audio controls debuts, as does voice activation technology for the optional navigation system.

Overview
The Lexus ES bolsters its appeal with a larger, more powerful engine, transforming the model into a more enthusiastic sedan. The new 3.3-liter V6 raises horsepower from 210 to 225 and torque from 225 to 240 lb/ft. Despite the increased verve, the ES 330 holds the line on pricing, ensuring that this luxury sedan will remain at the top of many most-wanted lists. The sole engine is matched with a revised five-speed automatic transmission calibrated to make the most of the increased torque while retaining the same fuel economy as last year’s model. The smart electronic transmission provides smooth, comfort-biased shifts and offers improved hill-climbing performance.
Borrowing features from the flagship LS 430, the ES 330 boasts premium equipment such as water-repellent front-door glass and courtesy lighting in all four doors to illuminate the ground and sills. Other key features include keyless entry, leather upholstery, electroluminescent instrument panel, automatic dual-zone climate control, power front seats, auto-dimming mirrors, walnut trim, and anti-theft system. The ES 330 is treated to larger side airbags, improved seat comfort, upgraded navigation system, and memory feature for optional power adjustable pedals. A well-mannered quiet, comfort-tuned sedan, the ES 330 is an excellent car with a strong value story to match.
